Panasonic Toughbook 19 updated and upgraded

Those who watched Transformers 2 would have noticed how Optimus Prime received parts from Jetfire after he was resurrected? It is the same old base material so to speak, but with far superior “specifications”. Same goes for the uber tough Panasonic Toughbook 19 convertible tablet that has just received a bunch of upgrades. The updated device will come with a standard voltage processor, and on to the better parts – we are looking at increased RAM and hard drive capacities and a brighter sunlight-viewable screen amongst others.

Using the second generation Intel Core i5-2520M (2.5GHz) standard voltage processor with Intel HD 3000 graphics, the Toughbook 19 will have a 20% faster start up time, not to mention improved CPU and graphics performance. Not only that, this is the first time where a standard voltage CPU and Intel HD 3000 graphics have worked together in the Toughbook 19. Amazingly enough, the Toughbook 19 will still not requre a fan, so it just goes to show the kind of quality that went into its build to work in even the most challenging of environments.

Other hardware improvements include 4GB RAM that can be expanded to double the amount, the ability to run a 32 bit or 64 bit Windows 7 professional operating system, a 320GB 7200rpm hard drive, with the option to throw in a 128GB or 256GB solid state drive (SSD).
