News Update :

Acer Chromebook officially priced

Sunday, June 12, 2011

While Google is in legal battle over the “Chromebook” name, it looks like it hasn't stopped the company from getting its devices out. Acer has officially announced the price of the Acer Cromia Chromebook (3G). Folks who want to get their hands on one of these babies will only need to for out $449.99, $50 less than Samsung's own 3G Chromebook offering, the Series 5. For those of you who don't need 3G you can shave $70 off the price tag and get the WiFi only version for $379.99.

The Acer Chromia Chromebook has a 11.6″ (1366 x 768) display, Dual-core Intel Processor, 2GB of RAM, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150, 16GB SSD, 1.3-megapixel HD webcam, HD audio support, WiFi, 3G, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, memory card slot, and a battery life of 6 hours. Not too bad at those prices, but we'll just have to see how much the Chrome OS has progressed since the first Cr-48 laptops Google released awhile ago. How many of you will be picking up a Chromebook?
